WHAT IS CROSSFIT?

CrossFit is primarily a fitness regimen of constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity in a communal environment. It is meant to increase work capacity across broad time and modal domains throughout the lifespan. This translates to the ability to perform many different tasks (e.g. squat, run, lift) under different loads (e.g. body weight, barbell, medicine balls) over varying time frames (e.g. 30 seconds, 20 minutes). It is about developing the ability to do real work and real tasks in a safe, efficient, and effective way. This regimen prepares you for the predictable, the unknown, and the unknowable.

“I’ve been doing CrossFit on my own for five years and I was so excited when Rogue River opened. Mike is a phenomenal coach who brings a lot of experience to the gym; with safe functional movement exercises. Rogue River CrossFit prepares me for the physical challenges the Army throws at me; which allows me to exceed the standards on my physical fitness test.”
