OUR PURPOSE & VALUES

Rogue River Strength & Conditioning was born out of a passion to enrich and bless the lives of others physically, mentally, and spiritually. We have sought to do this through human movement, which we value highly. Movement is the essence of life. When we cease to move, we cease to live.  It is our aim to teach, refine, and promote human movement that is safe, sustainable, efficient, and effective, so that everyone in our community may live their life to the fullest.  

MOVEMENT IS LIFE

What sets us apart is our passion for and relentless pursuit of the truths of human function.  We have extensive education and experience in the fields of physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and human movement science. We are constantly observing, testing, and analyzing in the literature and the lab* (our gym) to develop an ever-adapting system that creates the most desirable results in a safe, sustainable way.  

In this pursuit we believe in three interrelated components:

1. Individuality - What you, the individual, desire to achieve is of upmost importance. We believe it is critical for you to set personal goals. To help with this, we offer every client a one-on-one consultation to get started. We will also assess you as an individual so that together we can accommodate any constraints. This place is about YOU and YOUR goals.

2. Movement - We are a team of professionals in human movement and functional science. We teach and refine functional movements in all three planes of motion, movements that are readily transferable to real-world tasks. We will adjust the intensity level for you to ensure you are challenged and make progress towards your goals without getting burned out. We simplify the process by programming workouts for you. (Your muscles will be sore enough, your brain doesn't need to hurt, too.) The strength or weakness of any training program is in the movements, and human movement is our passion and expertise.

3. Environment - The environment is just as important as the person training and the movements s/he is performing.  We believe in and offer an environment founded on community. This is not a typical "group" class comprised of a bunch of strangers going through the motions, looking like the first night of a line dancing class.  This is a group of friends and family, encouraging and competing like a team. We offer you the opportunity to grow physically (as well as mentally and spiritually) by suffering and persevering together.

In summary, this is what we offer you...professional teaching of movement and programming of workouts catered to your personal goals in a community environment that breathes encouragement and productive competition.  All we ask of you is a commitment to your goals and a commitment to each other.

We have found that utilizing these principles, then adapting bits and pieces when things don't work, produces real results.  We are confident we can help you achieve the results you desire.
