Thank You

It’s kind of perfect that our anniversary falls in the month full of giving thanks. We always reflect back on how far RRCF has come and are just blown away with gratitude from all of the members that make it so special.

Here is a note from Mike to each and every one of you who continue to show up and make RRCF what it is...

I think it was back in 2007 that I stumbled across CrossFit online. I can’t honestly remember the details of the first workout I attempted, but I remember thinking to myself, “wow, that doesn’t look that hard.” Famous last words. I was instantly humbled and thought to myself - this is a good thing. You can witness across all facets of life that often the most humbling moments, like having children or someone offering you grace when you didn’t deserve it, are also some of the most meaningful ones. When I reflect on the last 4 years at Rogue River CrossFit, I feel like I did after that first workout back in 2007 - I’m humbled, and it’s a good thing. The list of new PR’s broken, movements mastered, and feats achieved is staggering, but this ongoing list of physical accomplishments you all have made is just the beginning.

Think about all the encouraging and uplifting you see, do, and receive every time you’re here.

Think about all the laughing, joking, and smiles.

Think about the friends and relationships you’ve made.

Think about the comforting and consoling that has taken place when tragedy has struck.

Think about all of the people in need who have been helped through your time, service, and donations.

Think about celebrating the children that have been born and watching others grow up right in front of our eyes.

Think about the person you’ve become since you started...

That character is a result of your mental and spiritual grit, as well as the drive and support of the people you toil, work, and compete with every time you walk in the door. I never cease to be amazed to see the psychological effects that are forged through physical struggle and achievement, and when we struggle and achieve together the effects are even more profound. These are the “big rock” things, the things that matter, the things that are at the root of true purpose and joy.

So, I want to say thank you to all of you for the gym. You are the ones that made it, and you are the ones that sustain it. It’s your efforts, your time, your spirits, and your attitudes that bind this place and continue to drive it forward. The gym was built and continues to be built by you all building each other. Take a moment to witness and reflect on the relationships being fostered and the good that continues to come from them. It is very humbling, and that is a good thing.

I could not be more grateful for each of you, and we will continue to try to show you our gratitude by making this a place you can continue to grow and develop physically, mentally, and spiritually to reach your goals and transform yourself alongside your family and your friends. Stay humble, disciplined, and committed not only with your physical work, but in continuing to care for and love each other.

Thank you!
Mike
